Recently, we conducted a Regional Conference of Health Foundation Nepal (HFN), which included a successful fundraising event in Virginia, and helped the organization move closer to its goal of providing vital health services and resources to those in need in Nepal. With the help of generous donors, HFN was able to raise $26,000 and make a significant impact on the lives of many people who are struggling with mental health challenges. The event was followed by Musical Night, where artists like, Mr. Ashis Bhadel, Ms. Hema Dhungel, Dr. Sujan Thapalita, Dr. Seejal Niraula, Dr. Jenisha Upadhya, Dr. Gaurav Shrestha, and Mr. Adi Subedi performed.
Mental health is an issue that affects people of all ages and backgrounds, and it is especially prevalent in developing countries like Nepal, where resources and support for those struggling with mental health issues are often limited. This is why HFN is working tirelessly to provide mental health services to those in need, especially pregnant women, young mothers, and the elderly above the age of 60 suffering from depression and anxiety, as well as people with serious mental illnesses at their rehabilitation center.
HFN’s mental health programs are especially important for pregnant women and young mothers, who are at a higher risk of developing mental health issues due to the stress and anxiety that often accompany pregnancy and new motherhood. By providing these women with access to mental health services, HFN is helping to ensure they can receive the care and support they need to stay healthy and thrive.
Similarly, elderly people above 60 are also at higher risk of developing mental health issues, and many of them may not have access to the care and resources they need to manage their conditions. HFN’s mental health programs are designed to address the unique needs of this population, providing them with the support they need to maintain their mental and emotional well-being.
The success of HFN’s recent fundraising event is a testament to the generosity and compassion of donors who are committed to improving the lives of those in need.
HFN is grateful for the support of its donors and partners and looks forward to continuing its work to provide vital health services and resources to those in need in Nepal. The event was supported by, NRNA- Virginia, the International Network for Nepali Journalists- INNJA, the Society of American Nepalese Nurses, the America Nepal Society, Wyndham Garden, and the America Nepal Medical Foundation.
